It’s been a hot minute since I have talked about cons. That is mostly because every time I do the best laid plans of Mice and Women change and any cons I was hoping to go to don’t happen. I have been thinking about this topic for a while now, and today seeing a friends post got the gears turning.

It’s almost time for Gary con. I would really like to be there but that would cost about 3,000 dollars and that is not something I have right now.

There was/ is a con here in Utah at the end of this month. I was not able to get a ticket.

Rage Con: this happens in June. It’s going to cost about 1,000 dollars to go. I am trying really hard to be at this con this year. My auntie was talking to be about this con at Christmas and I thought she was getting a pool together for me, but she has not said anything about it for some time.

VGHC: This virtual con happens at the start of October I would like to be a part of it, but I am not sure I am going to have an enough PTO to do so.

Timp Con: this one I missed last year, but I am going to be there this year.

This past week has been a mixed bag, I was able to get a little bit of stuff done for Wonderland, I would have liked to get more done. I was hoping to have level one of Lady Fear done, but my wife was in the Hospital, and I didn’t get anything done.

This past week has been an okay week. I got all the monsters I needed converted to 5e, I got some writing done for Wonderland. I have added a featured product section to the home page. This is such a stupid question and I know I have done a blog about this in the past but it was some time ago. So let’s refresh, It’s been about two weeks now since I had my interview to join the International Women’s Networking Association. And they asked me this question.

And I told they lady this is a stupid question to ask because if it’s a bad question for a job interview, it’s even worse to gauge if someone is a good fit for your networking group and here is why.

There are so many moving parts even in three years. Do you think people had in their 3-5 year plans that Covid was going to happen when it did, and how they were going to deal with it? The answer is no. Do you think the CEO of Enronn had going out of Business in his 3-5 year plan? Again the answer is no.

Now I am not saying don’t make plans. What I am saying is that 3-5 is such a long time, when it take 6-8 years to arrive. do you know how many times I have put getting Wonderland done on my 3-5 year plan? So many times.

Today I had the opportunity to be interviewed to join the international Woman’s Networking Association. It would have been a great opportunity if I had the dollars to pay the membership but that’s a different story for a different day.

During the interview the question was asked As a Professional woman what as been the biggest thing you have had to over come? Now I had to pause for a minute because The answer should be so commune that I would find a different question to ask to get a better idea of who someone is. The answer is that the biggest thing I have had to over come is being a woman.

I have a Masters Degree, and have been doing what I do for a very long time, and every day there are people in my circle that I am like you really want to go down this road of I don’t know what I am talking about. Okay lets do it, I mean it’s been a few years and I don’t really want to go find it, but I wrote a blog about the man in the game store that tried to tell me it was a law that Wizbro’s had to make as much money as they possibly could.

It’s a hard knock life for us all, and I don’t think it’s going to change anytime soon, it’s just something we are going to have to deal with.
