Super Beat Down Sunday

It has been a few months since I did a Super Beat Down Sunday. But I might be getting back into so I have a reason to play Arena. yeah I know I was excited the other day when I said I had not played it for five days, but I really want to figure out how to make my Saga deck work, so I need to do that and I want to make my Boros Dwarf deck better.

So each week I will talk about my online encounters, and if I go play with my group I will share about that too. One reason I stopped doing the Super Beat Downs is that I can only take so much of my group, I really need to find a new one.

Alright today’s daily challenge was to cast 20 creatures, I used my Orzhov deck and, casting that mean creatures, it’s going to take a few games because the deck is fast and It is not very often that would cast more than five creatures at a time. I went 4-1 with this deck, the deck I lost to was a mono red deck, and could not get my life gain fast enough not to get burned. I made it to Gold 2.

In the Real life game, I was able to play with my uncle, we played four games The first two games I played my Gruul deck. I did better the second game, but still lost both. I could not get any land.

The second game I used my Dimir storybook deck. I one that game, I have to say though that the last two times I have used that deck, I have had to come up with other ways to win, because my go to move with the Folio just hasn’t happened.

The Third game I used another Dimir mill deck. The idea is that my defenders mill. I won that game.

The Last game was commander, I could have won a few times, but I am trying to teach my uncle how to play the game better. I am not sure why.

Alright that is it for now, so until next time keep gaming.

There really is noting to this post other than sharing stuff I feel you might like.

First we will start with Reaver Con, https://tabletop.events/conventions/reaver-con-i?fbclid=IwAR3j5_XOtIGYRz0WE7YFzL2q_7pGmRotNW8gD52OXqUCOGob-PxKLiZadXI It’s everything Goodman Games. I have bought my badge, but I am starting to wonder if I really want to run some games. I have been talking to some people in the Goodman Games Discord and everything I want to run is longer than four hours. There is a panel I want to do called Let’s make Monsters.

The next thing is Game Day by Frog God Games. https://www.froggodgames.com/game-day/?fbclid=IwAR3T4qxQGVKNqJt5B1s4pCXEXrpz3K4mAk7zOdsJSHgTXX24Phx7kKMDnE0 I am running The King’s Castle on Saturday for Midnight Madness, and yes it starts at Midnight

Now I think it is time to share more gaming goodness with you. My buddy Randy Price and his company 2Kings has some good stuff if you are looking to play D&D with the little ones. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/307906/?fbclid=IwAR0j4S1OOM2icebvRAwDp84B3i1eAX3WLpP7sjbDigHmMAtOX3OLcQoHib4

Alright that should be good until next time so until than keep gaming.

This Week in Gaming 4/1/2021

This week has been good, I think part of that is because I have not been playing MTG Arena for no other reason than I need to not waste my time.

Wonderland: I have most of the map ready, I have three more pages to add to it and then I can start drawing. I went to get tape today, and while I need more because I got double sided sticky tape.

I have been thinking what the kids and I will do for our 5e game, I have been looking at some of the stuff from Wizards and I don’t like it, so I have been thinking I will just do Wonderland. That should be good and it will let me work on my writing at the same time.

The Final Dream: I am about 10 rooms away from being done with the third level of the Temple of Zeus, and should be able to get the map done for level four. I am not sure what I am going to do with level four yet, I keep thinking a dog named Zeus will be in this level but that is as far as I have gotten.

Next week Castle Roan should come out, I am going to send my art guy a message when I am done with the blog, and then I am thinking about doing an other adventure for Geryhawk con this October.

I have signed up to do a DCC con in April, and might be doing this other con and the end to show my games, I don’t remember what is called I will put that in my next blog. I am not one 100% sure about the second con, but for sure doing the DCC con. https://www.patreon.com/posts/49494510

I have so much stuff to do, so I think we have come to the part where I say until next time keep gaming.

The Adventures of Chantel #37

The website is coming along, I have been dealing with GoDaddy since last Friday to get my domain Transferred to WordPress, and I finally figured out every thing I needed, and in 5-7 days I will not need to work with them anymore, that makes me so happy.

Today I got most of the social media’s connected to the website, I was hoping to get connected to the Discord server, but don’t have that done yet. Until we get that done you can join here. https://discord.gg/gAxV8cA9.

I think it is time for one of those short blogs I do something, so I can get back to working on The Temple of Zeus. So Until next time keep gaming.

This Week in Gaming 3/25/2021

Gary con is on, if you are a part of that good luck to your characters you are going to need it unless you are playing AL. I think I said before that I had some life stuff come up and I am not running my games this year.

The Website is coming along, this makes me happy. I learned the other day that I can’t get plug-ins unless I get the Business version and that is coming, but it it going to take a few moons to get there. So I am not sure what I am going to do the the Game Store or The Yard sale yet.

Wonderland: I am not going to be able to start this until next week. I just need to go to the game store and work. The table at my house always seems to have people at it.

The Final Dream I: I have finished level two and got level three of the Temple of Zeus mapped out, I will be spending the rest of the day working on Treasure & Monsters. I don’t know how many monsters will be on this level, level two had 31.

I have this list of gems for when it comes up on the treasure right now there are 20 items on it but today I am going to add Moon stones to it. I might add a few more we will see.

I have 4 copies of The King’s Castle coming, I hope they come today. Two of them are being sold to one of the 12 FlGS that are in my area, one of them will be to show off to the other games stores in the state, and then one if for me. Then I will get more for the site. but until they you can order them in PoD from Lulu. https://www.lulu.com/en/us/shop/chantel-jones/ch1-the-kings-castle/paperback/product-7dg5y4.html?page=1&pageSize=4

I think that is all for this week, so until next time Keep Gaming.

The Adventures of Chantel #36

We are starting with Adventure number 36, because I use to have a blog at BlogSpot, you can read the rest of the blogs here. https://agameraday.blogspot.com/2021/03/the-adventures-of-chantel-35-moving-on.html. But after trying this out, I might move back and just export here to WordPress.

For those of you that are new, I will always have a blog on Thursday about all the gaming stuff I did for the week. The Adventures come and go, when I feel like it. But the goal is to be able to write something every day because I will be A Gamer A Day.

I am going to be adding a webstore to the site, but one thing at a time. So until then I have a Drivethrurpg store of my PDF’s that you can find. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/14046/Chantel-Jones?term=Chantel+Jones+

I also have a Lulu store for the Print on demand books. https://www.lulu.com/search?adult_audience_rating=00&page=1&pageSize=10&q=Chantel+Jones. I need to work on the info page there, but again one thing at a time.

I am going to try and get a page just for it, but I also have a patron, where you can get my writing early and some other wonderful stuff. https://www.patreon.com/user?u=14964776&fan_landing=true. I have two goals right now, one we are about to reach is I am able to get one more Goblin, and that is the 15 dollar a month goal. The other goal is that I am looking to add four goblins to the patron this month.

That is all I have for this adventure, so until next time Keep Gaming.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus your own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
