If you remember I started last week’s talk of Ravnica by saying it’s my long week so I don’t know how much I am going to get done. Before I give you the answer I am sure some of you are wondering what is my long week? that is when I work 6 12 hours days and sometimes alright most of the time it is hard to do other things.

So how much Ravnica did I work on at work? I worked on it one time for 10 minutes and I have not looked since.

It has also been a hard week for working on anything else. Thursday was my first day off from my long week, and I did not do anything.

And Friday, Well Friday my Anger could not be kindled and I could not write 1 because of my anger that women are losing rights and there are a lot of people that don’t understand that this is not the end but only the beginning, 2 my anger at men who really have no idea what the fuck they are talking about, but making sure they are heard because they are men and we should listen to them. 3 because I thought long and hard about if I was going to keep writing Adventures and other Content because I might have to leave one day and if that happens I am not going to be coming back. And because there is a fight coming and maybe writing about those things are more important.

Well, I am going to keep writing, but there might be some adventures coming that are about some of those issues.

Three days of work this week so I am going to be working on Ravnica on each break. I should be able to get this part of the project done this week.

The last thing I have to work on is the Temple of Set. I have one monster to add and then like three more rooms and I will be done with the Basement level of the Temple.

I also have to get ready for my new Ravnica game.

Due to high gas prices, I have put my Ravnica game that is in Salt Lake on Hold and will be starting a new one close to home. So I need to get that ready to start next week. For this reason, there won’t be a This week in Gaming on Thursday.

I also need to get an Adventure in Music out this week. It’s the last if Kate had a Bush. I was going to make a version of my character from the Boros Legion, but I am thinking More and More about making a version of Kate Bush from the Cult of Rakdos. https://www.patreon.com/posts/67301725

This week I will try and get more done on the Ravnica game, I will push to work on it during more than one break at work, but I am pretty sure that come Wednesday I am not going to work on it at all.

That last thing is The Temple of Set, I really need to get the Basement level done this week.

The other day when I started this blog I had a big, long story about the photo, but now we are just going to get into it.

So today at work I walked up to the production managers and said I have a dumb question, and this might be the dumbest question I have asked. When does the Production work schedule come out for next year? You see I am planning some things and need to know if I can do both.

The Good news is that I can go to both VGC in October if I can get the days off, and Gary con next year and will only have to take one day off and that is only if I want to get my nails done before I go, And most likely I do.

Last Time in the City of Ravnica the group found more people to join the group. An Imp from the Cult of Rakdos, a Minotaur from the Izzet League, and a Valdalkin from the Izzet League. They started exploring an unknown tower.

This week in the City of Ravnica it was only the Imp the Minotaur and the Goblin that continued up the tower.

On the third level, the group fought four Ice Mephits, and there were some saw blades that shot out of the wall. they found 3 potions and a potion of speed.

On Level four they fought two Ice Mephits and two Maga Mephits. The Minotaur got messed up in this fight and the Imp went down. The Minotaur used a potion and some spells to get up to full health, and the Imp got some health back. This is important for the next level.

On level five the only thing in the room was a stone slab, with a button on it. The Imp pushed the button and the top of the slab turned into a full buffet. if you have taken damage when you eat the food you get full health, if you have full health when you eat the food you lose half your health. The Minotaur found that out the hard way.

Do you See What I See? on level six if you fail your save the room will show you what you are most afraid of, for the Goblin it’s the undercity, and the room messed him up, now any time he is in the undercity all his rolls will be made with disadvantage, the same for the imp but he is afraid of museums. The Minotaur was saved but got attacked by the imp in his Panic attack.

On level 7 they fought four Magma Mephits, the Imp tried to get them to attack him, so when they blow up, they might kill each other but that has not happened yet.

Every month there seems to be something that upsets my uncle, and yes part of that is because he is not a happy man, but the other part is that he truly feels he is missing out on something. Rather it is Black History Month in February or Pride in June.

I don’t know what it is like for people in February, but I would like to just point out to him if he thinks it sucks when companies are all like look we are gay now and we want all your gay money. How do you think Gay and Lesbian, and all the other people feel when Wizards of the Coast is like hey LGBTQ+ people we are here for you come buy our stuff?

I have always said that the Fake “wokeness” of WotC has bugged me and we should call on them to do better, but there is really something about The Gay Secret Lairs that rubes me the wrong way. Maybe it is that What the Hell is going on with the Soul Ring?

To me, there is nothing about this card that says, we are all gay. And the only reason I would want it is because I have a group that I play with sometimes and I already know they are asking the WTF do we need gay magic cards? I will play this card so much.

Maybe, it bugs me because WotC just changes the art of some cards and it like hey we are all gay now come buy this really cool thing we made.

Or maybe and when I say maybe I mean it’s this one. WotC creates things and then never does anything with them or pulls back from them because it might make the guy bro dudes made. And I know you are asking what I am I talking about? While I am going to tell you.

Why is Alesha, Who Smiles at Death, not a main character in any story that Wizards is working on? I mean if we want the Trans players to be like yeah that is my girl right there, and one of the reasons I play this game, Why has she only been in one set, and now WotC is bringing her out to be like hey guys look we did a thing for you.

The other thing that bugs me the most is the love story between Chandra and Nissa and how in War of the Spark WotC was just like no man they are just friends. Why, Why are they just friends when they can be lovers and start a family if they want to?

There 26 days left until I can sign up to run events at VGC 3. But before we get into that I really want to play a game, I mean I want to be a player in a game. What I would really like to play in is B1 in search of the Unknow, after that we could figure it out, I would love to play in a game for Against the Giants. and being able to Play in Ravnica or Ravenloft would be the best. Maybe someday.

Now back to Virtual Greyhawk con three. if you can’t tell I am very excited about this, but there is one minor issue. the con takes on my weekend to work. And I know you might be saying take those days off Chantel, that’s a great idea but if I use 36 hours for VGC, that is 36 hours less I will have for Gary con next March.

Anyway, I will figure it out. right now I have a plan to run The King’s Castle, Castle Roan and one other adventure. I am going to be doing some work for the Spooky Season so I am going to be doing either Trick or Treat, or a Ravenloft adventure. I am also going to be running the adventure from the Radiant Citadel.

The Main event is the Joust and I am not sure yet if I want to try and sign up for that one. I might see if I can get some information about what characters are going to be in it, and if I will be playing the same character from the Arena battle if I was able to get a spot.

The in-person Ravnica game: It’s always a good idea, to ask how a certain race is treated in a setting, but maybe do that before you talk about cutting the ears off of drow, and that is how this week’s game started.

Somewhere in precinct two is a bar so rundown it doesn’t even have a name, and the goblin who runs it hates his job. This seems to be the bar that my players go to the most, even though I have given them a place that is nice and has adventure hooks waiting for them. And this is 100% okay, I just think it’s funny.

The druid being without her goblin fighter friend, and the wizard found her way to said bar. Where she found a Vadalkin Artificer, an Imp Rogue, and a Minotaur Artificer, that most patronage this bar has ever seen.

The adventure to the Tower of Ra Na Koi, started because the Valdalkin had a map with a tower on it and the Druid doesn’t know any shortcuts to it.

Who puts a Roundabout in Ravnica?

Every time the Druid needs to go somewhere she knows a shortcut, and every time the group is in the undercity they get attacked. This time it was three drow, a rat swarm, a giant spider, and a poisonous snake.

The Tower of Ra Na Koi, can only be entered at 2 am, when the moon hits it just right and you can see the door. The tower is full of death and pain. The good news for the group is the imp likes death and pain. The bad news is they have 17 more levels to go before they get out.

I was going to write this blog before I took care of Patreon, but that is not how it went down. Now I have come to tell you a story, about a time I worked at Vivint Smart Home.

Every month they had these lunch training things, and one time the lady that was giving the talk was asked how she balances being a wife, a mom, and the VP of whatever department she was over I don’t remember any more. But I remember the answer that I don’t, sometimes I am great at being the vp, and the others are lacking and sometimes I am the best wife in the world and the others are lacking.

I share this story because at the time I got the idea for this post I was thinking about applying for a job at work. Spoiler I applied for the job, but the schedule I have now is really good for writing, but the new job is more money and It is a 9-5, so I am hoping I will get more writing done after work.

But if I don’t get the job, I guess I don’t have to worry about it. So until next time keep gaming.

With con season getting closer and closer or already started, I have been thinking about this story I have.

One day when I was working at Vivint Smart Home, someone asked why are Vivint Camera So much? My answer was because that is what the Market says they can sell them for. They asked what that meant, so I told them that if people would stop buying cameras for 400 dollars, vivint or any place would stop selling them for that much.

Why is it that when people pay a lot of money and something goes wrong, they Point out that this should not be happening, I paid 8,000 dollars to do this thing? I really want to walk up to that person and be like Hey I really sorry that this thing happened, but why would you pay 8,000 dollars for this thing?

Now don’t get me wrong, the Con I am going to next March is going to cost a lot of money, the Badge to get in is going to be somewhere between 95 and 100 dollars because prices are going up, I am buying a pair of boots that are 112 dollars, and then there is lodging and food and on and on, but I don’t understand why people have to get so mad about crap going wrong I mean that is what life is things always going wrong. And at the end of the day even with prices going up, if people stop paying prices will adjust or cons will stop being cond and then we start over.
