I have gained a level since last weeks blog. I got some new pink and purple dice, it’s funny that there is more pink, because the dice are called purple whirlwind. I also got a Young Blue Dragon mini.

I got three games of Magic in. One game was a 60 card game, I won that one, the dude could not stop the flying. The next two games were Commander. I could not get anything going in the first game. In the second game I was able to do every thing I needed with only three lands.

I was able to get more cards for my 99 lands commander deck, but the commander I need for it tripled in price in only two weeks.

I have found a commander deck that has no lands in it. That I will get after I am done with my lands deck.

I got everything done for The Temple of Golden Nuts, so in the morning I will send the art to the cover guy, and we should be able to get it out to Drivethru on Monday. In the mean time I will start working on Chaos.

I dropped out of my play by post game, but I might be starting a new game next week. The other game, things keep happening on game days, like this week I have to take the kids to the Trunk or Treat, and that is right during game time. So I won’t be able to play until November.

The first goal this week really depends on my art people, but I want to get The Temple of Golden Nuts out on Wednesday the 20th, that’s my Birthday. If this is going to happen I will need to color like there is no tomorrow so I can get it off to my cover guy on Tuesday.

The second goal is a dollar goal. I would like to make 100 dollars this week. That would be selling 5 copies of The King’s Castle so I think I can do that.

My third goal is not related to the company so I will skip that one.

I mean think about it even with D&D have two monster years there are more MtG setting books for D&D, then there are D&D things for Magic. and Yeah I am counting the Commander sets that are coming out next year. The reason? because the D&D nerds are already playing make but are the Magic nerds playing D&D? maybe that could be why we are getting magic settings in our D&D, but I think it’s more because maybe if we give them a Ravnica setting they will come play D&D and we can get them to pay twice, or three times if they get the books and them get them again on D&D beyond.

Today was Free RPG day, and only two store in Utah took part in it. Because it cost money to order the stuff, and that’s cool and I get that, but those stores that did not want to pay for it, have already spent of Magic cards that they may never see because they are on a boat somewhere. So again we know we are going to make our money on those magic cards but paying to give away stuff we can’t do.

And this is the thing that bugs me the most, even if you don’t get the packet of RPG stuff, why not do a sale or something to to promote Role playing like D&D? like hey come play this adventure and we will give you 10% off. Or better yet why not work with local creators to promote them. I mean after all Local art is not stuck on boats right now.

The Answer they are not making money. And that is why I am 100% happy that the White gift set for the rules expansion can only be bought In game stores and I wish we would make a push to get everything back in the game store, then they would be more willing to spend the money to have Free RPG day in their store.

So Paizo has a Union now, and that is Great, I support it 100% But I have been thinking about this since I read the news, what’s next when do we go on strike because getting more than 5 cents a word isn’t going to change just because there is a Union, and bad managers aren’t just going to stop being bad managers.

Then I had an even bigger thought. It doesn’t really matter what happens at the home of Pathfinder, I mean if the workers do go one strike I support that and will tell everyone I know not to buy PF2 or Star Finder. but the next big thing we should be watching what is going to happen at WotC.

If the Workers at WotC get a union then things will start to change, but even a bigger company like Pazio the world is not going to change just because they have a union, just because Pazio is not the world leader anymore.

Now here is the thing, when the PF workers do go on strike, pazio is going to come knocking on our doors we need to stand strong and not screw over our what ever you want to call them. Now that being said, I get it you have mouths to feed and bills to pay, and if you took a job I would not judge you.

Happy Thor’s day and that means it’s time again for the weekly update.

I don’t know if it will be today, but I need to start making a new character for a play by post game. I also need to finish my character for my every other Saturday game. I am waiting for the DM to read the new UA stuff. I think the bug race from Dark Sun would be cool to play as a Ranger. I just realized that both these games are the same adventure just one is as it was back in the day, and one has/ is being converted to 5e.

I have started building a new Commander deck, it has 99 lands I think it will be fun.

Free RPG day is this Saturday Oct 16th, I was hoping to find a store that I could go run some of my stuff, but there seems to be only 2.5 stores that are doing anything so I think the kids and I are just going to go do the stuff from DCC so we can get those books. That’s right you read a .5 and you wonder how do we get a .5. Well you see there is a game store in the capital city, and they were not going to do anything but after messaging them on Discord and calling them because I did not get an answer on Discord, they posted a poll on their discord that we could play the Normal Saturday D&D or we could learn a new game because it’s Free RPG day.

The Final Dream I: I have six pages left to type, I think I can get it done today. when I am done with the blog I will jump on that.

Ice and Dice: I will get fully into this when I am done with The Temple of Golden Nuts. If I finish that today, I will start on this adventure tomorrow.

And as you can tell by the title of this blog, I still wonder are we all in this together? If we are to busy fighting about what makes a family on Twitter, I don’t think we are. Now I know that Twitter needs the Drama of us fighting about stupid stuff like that. But we can do better and if we really believe we can beat the math of Twitter and Facebook and any other Social Media we have to do better.

I Know it’s short but that is all I got, and tomorrow is this week in gaming so maybe there will be more thoughts on this subject. So until than keep gaming.

I turn 38 in 10 days, you wonder why that matters? well it’s simple that means I have a year and a half to make it on to the 40 under 40 list. I don’t think I am going to make it, and even if I did, I don’t they have a list like that for writers of RPG’s. And I guess that is okay, because I have already said lists like that are dumb and I don’t even remember why I wanted to be on that list. I guess it’s because there was a time in my life that I cared what people thought.

I heard back from Anchor and they are still working on the issue, I guess that means we follow up again next week or at the start of next month, we will see.

It’s been a few days since I have heard from the people at Anchor, so I sent them an email, more updates coming as I know.

I use to work with this guy and every day he would tell me how much he hates is life, he had a full time job working where we worked, and then on Saturday he had a part time job working for the Post Office. And every day I would tell him to find a different job, He had a degree in Film making so he could go do that.

I saw him today, and I am not sure his life is any better, I mean being a manager at a Thrift can’t really be better than working at Nu Skin can it? I don’t think so, but the point is if it works for him and his family than it’s good enough.

I have a pretty good life, I mean it would be nice if I could pay all the bills with my writing and patreon, and maybe some day I will so I don’t have to go to a job I hate. but at the end of the day I am doing what I enjoy and that is good enough for me.

Happy Thor’s day to all of you. Aside from maybe playing a game or two of Magic, I don’t know how much gaming as gone on since last week. Ok I lied I did get a game of Phase 10 in with the family.

The Facebook crash was nice. I was not going to talk about it a lot, but saw someone ask if it was really that big of a deal? Yeah for some of us it was, there are people that use it as a means to talk to people, and others that use it of business. I mean it sucks as a place trying to promote your work, but it’s a way.

The Final Dream: The Temple of Zeus is coming a long, it will be done this week I think, there are somethings I have to do for my wife’s business, so we will see. And then I will just need art.

Ravenloft: Yes well here we are. I really need to get The Temple of Golden Nuts done, so I can focus on this all the time.

VGC2 has come to an end. it was a fun weekend of gaming. I was able to run Castle Roan for a group.
